Quick Guide
- Inside the Pokémon League, defeat the Elite Four and Champion.
- After the credits, prepare to face your rival in one last battle.
The Pokémon League
After you enter the Pokémon League’s lobby, heal your team by talking to the Pokémon Center lady on the left.
Then you can also stock up on healing items from the Poké Mart clerk on the right.
When you’re ready, proceed past the central gate between the two Ace Trainers.

Final Preparations for the Elite Four
Here’s a quick rundown on how battles work in the Pokémon League:
Past the gates, you’ll face the Elite Four and Champion one after another in each of their respective rooms.
You can heal between fights using items, but leaving midway through the challenge is prohibited. If you lose any of these battles, you’ll need to start over and fight them again from the beginning.
And here are a few final tips before challenging the Elite Four:
- Train Your Team to be Around Level 50-60. The Elite Four’s Pokémon are between level 50-59, so it’s best to bring a team with similar or higher levels.
- Finalize the Team’s Held Items and Movesets. It’s a good idea to let your teammates hold useful items and learn new moves that might be useful in the upcoming battles.
- Stock Up on Healing Items. After Victory Road, you might be running low on healing items. They will be essential for keeping your Pokémon healthy between all five battles.

Entering the Hall of Fame
Congratulations! By defeating Steven, you’ve earned the title of Hoenn League Champion.
After your victory, a lengthy cutscene plays during which Steven inducts your current team into the Hall of Fame.
Following this, the game automatically saves and the credits roll.
Post-Credits Rival Battle
After the game’s credits, a final cutscene will unfold before returning you to the title screen. In this cutscene your rival challenges you to one last battle on Route 103, the place where you had your first battle.
Despite using his best team, this battle shouldn’t be harder than the one against Steven. So just enjoy your first battle as Hoenn’s new Champion!
