Route 126
Route 126 is a water route known for the massive crater that contains Sootopolis City.
Surrounding the crater, you’ll find a diving spot trail which allows you to access the route’s large network of underwater trenches.
Additionally, to the southwest of the route there’s a small diving spot. Surfacing from here takes you to the Secret Islet, a small Fly-able area with a single Secret Spot.

How To Reach Sootopolis City

If you use Dive near the central section, you should immediately spot a cave entrance nearby. Enter the cave and Dive once more to resurface in Sootopolis City.
Visiting Sootopolis City For The First Time
Upon arriving in Sootopolis City, the intense weather caused by Kyogre/Groudon will continue.
As a result, the city’s Gym and most of the city will currently be inaccessible.
To continue with the main story, make your way to the northwest side of Sootopolis City until you find Steven and Wallace near the Cave of Origin.
Cave of Origin
The Cave of Origin, located in the northern section of Sootopolis City, is where the climax and conclusion of the game’s main story will unfold.
In the deepest part of the cave, you’ll finally have the chance to catch Kyogre/Groudon. So make sure you have enough Poké Balls ready for the encounter.

Navigating the Cave of Origin (Step-by-Step)
Step 1: At the northwest side of Sootopolis City, approach Steven and Wallace to start the cutscene. You’ll soon receive the Aqua Suit/Magma Suit Key Item.
Step 2: After the cutscene concludes, head straight up through the Cave of Origin’s entrance.
Step 3: Once you’re inside the cave, start moving north up the hallway.
Step 4: Keep moving north until you encounter the staircase leading to the lower level.
Step 5: Descend the stairs, turn left, and follow the path straight up.
Step 6: Ignore the left path for the time being. Instead, proceed along the hallway and turn right at the corner.
Step 7: Head eastward until you reach another staircase leading to the lower floor.
Step 8: On this floor, make your way to the bottom-right side of the hallway by going down two sets of stairs near you.
Step 9: After reaching the bottom-right corner, turn left and proceed westward.
Step 10: At the end of the path, descend another set of stairs to the next floor.
Step 11: From the staircase, head north, and follow the path until you discover another staircase in the top-left corner of the hallway.
Step 12: Then head south, proceeding towards the hallway’s southern side.
Step 13: Turn left at the bottom-right corner and descend the final staircase.
Step 14: On this floor, approach the room’s center to initiate another cutscene.
Step 15: During the cutscene, you’ll get to wear the Aqua Suit/Magma Suit. This will allow Kyogre/Groudon to transport you safely to the cave’s deepest area.
Primal Kyogre / Primal Groudon Battle
After the cutscene, you should find yourself in the deepest area of the Cave of Origin. Here you have the chance to save your progress before facing Kyogre/Groudon.
Once you interact with it, Kyogre/Groudon undergoes Primal Reversion to transform into Primal Kyogre/Primal Groudon. The battle begins shortly after.
Note: Be prepared for a tough battle, especially if you’re trying to catch it; Kyogre/Groudon’s powerful attacks might sweep your team if you’re not careful.

After successfully catching Kyogre/Groudon, the harsh weather caused by them will subside, and everything will return to normal in Sootopolis City and all across Hoenn.
If you accidentally defeat Kyogre/Groudon then the game’s story will still proceed as usual. But you can return to the same part of the cave later to attempt to catch them again.
Obtaining the Eon Flute & Blue/Red Orb
As the cutscene continues, Archie/Maxie will give you the Blue/Red Orb. This held item will enable your newly-caught Kyogre/Groudon to undergo Primal Reversion.
Additionally, Steven will present you with the Eon Flute, allowing you to soar through the skies of Hoenn.
Once everyone leaves, you’ll finally have the opportunity to challenge the eighth and final Gym.
