To obtain TM64 Explosion, head to Sky Pillar just north of Route 131. The TM is in an isolated area on the southwest side of the tower’s third floor.
It’s important to note that Sky Pillar can only be accessed toward the end of The Delta Episode, so the Explosion TM is only available in the post-game.
Prerequisites
- Beat the Elite Four and become League Champion
- Go through the Delta Episode in the post-game up until Sky Pillar is unlocked
Location
During the Delta Episode, you’ll need to ask Wallace for help while he’s in front of the giant tree in Sootopolis City, near the Cave of Origin. Wallace will request that you accompany him to Route 131, where he will unseal the cave.
Since Route 131 is a water route, you’ll need to have a Pokémon that knows Surf to reach Sky Pillar.
Follow the steps below to reach Sky Pillar get to the TM’s location.
Step 1: Start by using HM03 Surf to travel on the sea to your left.
Step 2: Head north onto the narrow path between the rocks and keep surfing in this direction.
Step 3: Upon reaching an intersection, keep surfing north past the rocks and disembark in front of the island with a cave entrance.
Step 4: If Wallace hasn’t broken the seal yet, you won’t be able to access Sky Pillar just yet. If the seal has been broken and you’ve defeated Wallace in a rematch, go through the cave entrance.
Step 5: After entering the cave, climb up multiple sets of stairs.
Step 6: At the top of the stairs, turn right and exit the cave through the passage in the bottom-right corner.
Step 7: Upon exiting the cave, enter the tower entrance to the north to get into Sky Pillar.
Step 8: After entering Sky Pillar, go towards the north side of the first floor.
Step 9: Climb the ladder in front of you to reach the second floor of Sky Pillar.
Step 10: Upon reaching the second floor, follow the path heading west towards the bottom-left corner of the floor.
Step 11: You’ll eventually find a ladder to your right going up. Climb it, then head east.
Step 12: Now on the third floor, head eastward and climb another ladder that you’ll find at the end of the path.
Step 13: After climbing up to the fourth floor, follow another linear path heading northwest.
Step 14: Upon reaching the northernmost section of the fourth floor, start moving southwest.
Step 15: Then keep following the path by wrapping around to the east, and then climb up the ladder here to reach the fifth floor.
Step 16: When you’ve made it to the fifth floor, take a right turn and follow the path going south.
Step 17: Instead of using the south ladder that leads to the summit, turn left and travel west until you come across a different ladder that goes down.
Step 18: Descend the ladder to the fourth floor, then look to your left and climb down another ladder which leads to the third floor.
Step 19: In this isolated section of the third floor you’ll be able to pick up the TM for Explosion, which should be near the edge of some rubble.
