Littleroot Town serves as the starting point for your journey in the Hoenn region. It’s also home to Professor Birch’s Pokémon lab where he conducts his research.
The town’s only exit leads north to Route 101.

Points of Interest
Your House
This is the house where the player moves upon arriving in Littleroot Town. It has a second floor that serves as your bedroom.
After receiving your starter Pokémon, you can return home where your mother will fully heal your team.
Rival’s House
The only other house in town belongs to your rival.
If your rival is Brendan, he lives in the house on the left. If your rival is May, she resides in the house on the right.
Professor Birch’s Lab
Besides the two houses, the only other building in Littleroot Town is Professor Birch’s laboratory. You’ll need to visit it for story cutscenes early in the game.
Later on, you can return to the lab to obtain the Oval Charm and Shiny Charm after completing the Hoenn Pokédex and the National Pokédex, respectively.
Change Rotom’s Form
If you have a Rotom in your party, you can interact with the appliances inside the cardboard boxes in the bottom-right corner of Professor Birch’s lab to change Rotom’s form to one of the following:
