Route 117 is a route in central Hoenn connecting Verdanturf Town and Mauville City.
Notably, this is the only area in Hoenn where you can catch Illumise, Volbeat, and Roselia. The route also features a Pokémon Day Care facility, which allows you to store two Pokémon and have them make eggs.

Points of Interest
Pokémon Day Care
Located on the northeast side of the route you’ll find the Pokémon Day Care. This facility allows you to leave up to two of your Pokémon at a time and offers two primary services for them:
- Experience – Your Pokémon gain experience points with each step you take while they are at the Pokémon Day Care.
- Breeding – If you leave two compatible Pokémon (based on their Egg Group) at the Pokémon Day Care, they may produce an Egg. You can receive the Egg from the Elder outside the Pokémon Day Care building.
While leaving your Pokémon at the Day Care is free, withdrawing them will incur a fee. This fee is calculated based on the number of levels they have gained during their stay. The base fee is 100 Poké Dollars, plus an additional 100 Poké Dollars per level per Pokémon.
