Southern Island

Southern Island is a hidden area that’s first accessible after a cutscene with Steven on Route 118.

Revisiting the island requires the Eon Ticket (obtainable via Mystery Gift). Each visit allows you to catch one of the two Eon Pokémon, Latias or Latios, with the first encounter depending on your game version. The island has no tall grass or hidden items.

After dealing with Team Aqua/Magma in your first visit to Southern Island, Latias (AS) or Latios (OR) will join your team without having to battle or catch it.

If your team is full, you’ll have to deposit one of your current party members.

Eon Ticket Encounter

When you visit Southern Island using the Eon Ticket (obtainable via Mystery Gift), Latios (AS) or Latias (OR) will now appear in the forest.

If you accidentally defeat it then it will respawn immediately, giving you another chance to catch it.

After you catch Latios or Latias (depending on your version), they will drop a Soul Dew.

Shortly after meeting Latias or Latios on the island, a Team Aqua/Magma Admin and a Grunt will show up.

You’ll have to team up with Steven in a Multi Battle to deal with them.
