PP Ups

PP Ups are valuable items that increase the PP (Power Points) of a move by 20%. While they can be found throughout Hoenn, PP Ups are limited, and there isn’t a consistent or reliable way to farm them.

This page catalogs all the locations where you can find or obtain PP Ups in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire.

Non-Repeatable Methods

Location #1 – Lilycove City

Step 1: From Lilycove City’s Pokémon Center, head east to the intersection, then turn north and go up the staircase.

Step 2: Continue east, passing by the Move Deleter’s house.

Step 3: Head down the ledges and take the southeastern staircase near the house on the cliffside.

Step 4: After descending the staircases, you’ll reach the city’s beach area. Then, turn right and head north toward the Team Aqua/Magma Hideout.

Step 5: At the rock near the hideout’s entrance, pick up the hidden PP Up.

Location #2 – Victory Road

Prerequisites
HM03 Surf HM04 Strength TM70 Flash (Optional)

Step 1: Return to Victory Road. Inside, use HM03 Surf and head north on the body of water to reach the next room.

Step 2: When you’ve reached the next room, disembark at the water’s edge and proceed north.

Step 3: If you haven’t done so already, use HM04 Strength to push the boulder into the hole and clear the path.

Step 4: After moving the boulder, go north up a small flight of stairs. Then, turn west until you reach an Ace Trainer (ignoring the 2nd set of stairs).

Step 5: Go north, turn right and climb up the nearest staircase.

Step 6: Cross the bridge to the west after climbing the stairs, and then descend the ladder.

Step 7: If you have a Pokémon with TM70 Flash, you can use it to light up this part of the cave. Then, you’ll need to use HM04 Strength to head a few paces down from the ladder & then push the boulder on the left into the corner.

Step 8: After pushing the first boulder, you’ll need to push the other boulder one space to the right.

Step 9: After pushing both boulders, continue along the path going south. Eventually, it will wrap around to the northeast side of the floor.

Step 10: In the northeast corner, you’ll find two boulders. Push the bottom one to the right.

Step 11: When you push the boulder aside, it will open the path to the PP Up at the end of the corridor.

Location #3 – Route 104 (North)

Prerequisites
HM03 Surf

Step 1: Head to Route 104’s north side, then go south toward the docks.

Step 2: Turn right near the twins and use HM03 Surf at the east end of the dock.

Step 3: Continue surfing east and land on the small patch of land. Pick up the PP Up in the corner.

Location #4 – Route 109

Step 1: Fly back to Route 109 and head northwest from the signpost.

Step 2: Continue northwest until you reach the Seashore House. Then, head north along the left side of the building.

Step 3: In the northwest corner at the edge of the shore, pick up the PP Up.

Location #5 – Route 111 (Desert)

Prerequisites
Go-Goggles

Step 1: Fly to Route 111 and head northeast, passing a Backpacker.

Step 2: Then, turn right and enter the desert area to the east.

Step 3: Proceed further east, walking past a Camper. Then, head south and climb up the sand dune. Use your Dowsing Machine near the top to find the hidden PP Up.

Location #6 – Route 115

Prerequisites
HM03 Surf

Step 1: From Rustboro City’s Pokemon Center, head north along the path until you reach the city’s north exit, which leads to Route 115.

Step 2: Stay on this path until you reach Route 115. Then, go down the ledge by the Aroma Lady and head to the nearby beach.

Step 3: When you get to the beach, use HM03 Surf at the top left corner of the sea.

Step 4: Keep surfing north, making your way through the tight pass between the island and the rocks.

Step 5: Soon, you’ll notice another beach on the northeast side of the area. Disembark there when you see it.

Step 6: When you get to the beach, find the stairs to your right and climb them. Then, walk north on the path on the right side where a Black Belt is wandering around.

Step 7: At the intersection, follow the narrow path on your right-hand side toward the Ruin Maniac.

Step 8: Climb the staircase near the Ruin Maniac, then head straight north. Pick up the PP Up at the end of the path by the cliff.

Location #7 – Route 123 (PP Up #1)

Prerequisites
HM01 Cut HM03 Surf

Step 1: Fly to Mt. Pyre and head southeast toward the nearby pier.

Step 2: On Route 123, head south along the pier to enter the east side of Route 123. Southeast of where the pier ends, you’ll find a prickly tree. Use HM01 Cut to cut it down.

Step 3: After cutting down the tree, go into the path where the Psychic is standing. In the spot before you come into his line of sight, pick up the hidden PP Up.

Location #8 – Route 123 (PP Up #2)

Prerequisites
HM01 Cut HM03 Surf

Step 1: Fly to Mt. Pyre and head southeast toward the nearby pier.

Step 2: On Route 123, follow the path heading west.

Step 3: Use HM01 Cut on the nearby prickly tree, then follow the narrow path west.

Step 4: Cut down another prickly tree on your left and continue along the same narrow path.

Step 5: Then, head down the ledge past the berry trees.

Step 6: Continue west and walk around the Delinquent if you wish to avoid a battle.

Step 7: After emerging from the long grass, go down one ledge and head west.

Step 8: Continue west until you find an Ace Trainer. Pass her and then head southwest.

Step 9: Enter the long grass and pick up the PP Up as you exit on the south side.

Location #9 – Mirage Cave (North of Route 124)

The image below highlights the Mirage Spot where you can find a PP Up. If this Mirage Spot is not currently active, adjust the time settings on your 3DS or emulator until it appears.
