Heart Scales are valuable items that can be used to teach Pokémon moves they have forgotten by visiting the Move Reminder (also known as the Move Maniac). They are particularly useful for optimizing movesets in competitive battles.

Location #1 – Lilycove City

Step 1: Fly to the Lilycove Pokémon Center.

Then go south at the intersection and continue following the road in that direction.

Step 2: As you proceed, you’ll pass by the Cove Lily Motel.

Continue south along the path located just beyond the motel.

Step 3: Finally, descend the staircase and approach the large rock at its base.

You’ll find the Heart Scale on the bottom-left side of the rock.

Location #2 – Seafloor Cavern

HM03 Surf HM07 Dive

Step 1: Fly back to Route 128. Then immediately surf west.

Step 2: Once you reach the area south of the circular sandbar, use Dive at the diving spot located there.

Step 3: After diving, head north and enter the cave directly in front of you.

Step 4: Inside the Seafloor Cavern, use Dive again to resurface within the cave.

Step 5: After resurfacing, continue surfing east through the cave.

Step 6: Land on the right side of the floor and head to the southeast corner of the room. Pick up the hidden Heart Scale located there.

Step 1: Fly to Pacifidlog Town.

Then from the town’s Pokémon Center, head south along the wooden logs.

Step 2: When you reach the southernmost point, turn right and head toward the southeast house.

Step 3: Once you reach the southeastern house, pick up the hidden Heart Scale located in front of the right window.

Location #4 – Pacifidlog Town (Trade Item)

Have a Bellossom for Trade

Step 1: Fly to Pacifidlog Town and head south along the wooden logs.

Step 2: When you reach the southernmost point, turn right and enter the first house nearest to you on your right.

Step 3: Inside the house, talk to the Aroma Lady NPC and trade your Bellossom for her Corsola.

You can then take its held (a Heart Scale) for yourself.

Location #5 – Route 104 (South)

Step 1: Fly to Petalburg City and use its west exit to leave the city toward the southern section of Route 104.

Step 2: Once you’re on Route 104, head northwest toward the patch of grass.

Step 3: Then go down the nearest staircase to reach the route’s beach area and continue south.

Step 4: Just a few tiles southeast of the nearby Fisherman, use your Dowsing Machine to locate the hidden Heart Scale.

Step 1: Fly to Route 105.

Then from the route’s signpost, surf south toward the small nearby sandbar.

Step 2: Once you’ve landed on the sandbar, pick up the hidden Heart Scale located one tile south of the rock.

Step 1: Fly to Route 106.

Then you’ll find a hidden Heart Scale directly southeast of the route’s signpost.

Location #8 – Route 109 (First Spot)

Step 1: Fly to Route 109 and head north until you reach the Sailor NPC. After passing by him, continue northwest.

Step 2: As you pass by the next blue umbrella, pick up the hidden Heart Scale located underneath it.

Location #9 – Route 109 (Second Spot)

Step 1: Fly to Route 109 and begin heading northeast.

Step 2: Continue northeast, passing the Trainer Tips sign.

Step 3: Then you can pick up a hidden Heart Scale located one tile above the Old Man and his Zigzagoon.

Step 1: Fly to Route 109 and head southwest to the edge of the beach. Use Surf there.

Step 2: Continue surfing southwest, passing the Swimmer along the way.

Prerequisites
HM03 Surf

Step 1: From Rustboro City’s Pokemon Center, head north along the path until you reach the city’s northern exit, which leads to Route 115.

Step 2: Stay on this path until you reach Route 115.

Then go down the ledge directly left of the Aroma Lady and head to the nearby beach.

Step 3: Once you arrive at the beach, use Surf at the northern edge of the sand.

Step 4: Surf north to reach the nearby island directly ahead.

Step 5: On the island where the Battle Girl is pacing, pick up the hidden Heart Scale located at the base of the cliff and west of the staircase.

Step 1: Start by heading back to Mauville City and head east into the city’s interior.

Step 2: When you’re inside the city, continue east until you reach the exit leading to Route 118.

Step 3: When you reach Route 118, keep going east until you reach the beach.

Step 4: Once you’re on the route’s beach, head south near the Fisherman and locate the hidden Heart Scale on the small rock here.

Location #13 – Route 124 (First Spot)

Step 1: Fly to Route 124. Then immediately surf north until you find a diving spot.

Step 2: After using Dive, navigate north to the location where light filters from above. Then use Dive again to resurface at the end of the path.

Step 3: Once you’re back on the surface, walk west toward the island and go up the nearby staircase.

Step 4: Continue west, circling around the crater until you reach the island’s western edge.

Step 5: At the western edge, locate the next diving spot and use Dive there.

Step 6: Now underwater, move southeast past the Diver and find the hidden Heart Scale in the open patch of seaweed nearby.

Step 1: Fly to Route 124 and head to the western edge of the island. Use Surf there.

Step 2: After passing the nearest diving spot, begin surfing northwest.

Step 3: Continue surfing in this direction until you spot another diving spot on the route’s westernmost side. Once you find it, go toward it and use Dive there.

Step 4: Underwater, navigate to the northeast corner of the area near the Scuba Diver NPC and pick up the hidden Heart Scale there.

HM03 Surf HM07 Dive

Step 1: Fly back to Route 126 and surf westward along the diving spot north of the crater.

Step 2: Upon reaching the north side of the crater where a swimmer is located, use Dive anywhere near this area.

Step 3: While underwater, navigate northwest towards the area where light filters from above. Then use Dive again to resurface.

Step 4: Once you’re back on the surface, you’ll be on the isolated northwest side of the route.

From here, you’ll need to surf northeast.

Step 5: Continue surfing until you reach the northeast corner of this section. Then use Dive to submerge once more.

Step 6: When you’re back underwater, surf westward.

Step 7: You’ll soon come across a seaweed patch. In the first bare patch of seafloor within the seaweed, you’ll find a hidden Heart Scale.

Prerequisites
HM03 Surf HM07 Dive

Step 1: Fly back to Route 127. Then hop off the island and use Surf to navigate southeast.

Step 2: Continue surfing southeast, passing by an Ace Trainer.

Step 3: Shortly after that, go through the narrow opening on the southeast side.

Step 4: Land on the beach, turn right, and head straight toward the nearby diving spot. Then use Surf & Dive to go underwater here.

Step 5: Underwater, head northeast for a few tiles to find a hidden Heart Scale.

Step 1: Fly to Route 128, and then just a few tiles west of the signpost you’ll find a hidden Heart Scale.

Location #18 – Route 128 (Second Spot)

Prerequisites
HM03 Surf

Step 1: Fly to Route 128 and then immediately surf northwest toward the nearest sandbar.

Step 2: Once you land, use your Dowsing Machine to locate the hidden Heart Scale in the center of this sandbar.

Location #19 – Route 128 (Third Spot)

Prerequisites
HM03 Surf

Step 1: Fly to Route 128 and then immediately surf west.

Step 2: Once you reach the area with the circular diving spot, surf to the sandbar located at its center.

Location #20 – Route 129

Prerequisites
HM03 Surf HM07 Dive

Step 1: Fly to Route 129 and leave the small island by surfing southeast.

Step 2: Continue surfing southeast and then use Dive just before reaching the end of the Diving spot.

Step 3: While underwater, head south toward the area with seaweed.

Step 4: Exit the seaweed patch by heading west, and you’ll soon find another Diving spot. Use Dive again to resurface.

Step 5: After resurfacing, head northeast and land on the small island.

Step 6: Then head to the northeast corner of the island to find a hidden Heart Scale.

Location #21 – Route 134 (First Spot)

Prerequisites
HM03 Surf

Step 1: Fly to Route 132 to get started, and make your way to the northernmost set of water currents. Once you spot them, head straight north and ride them.

Step 2: Once you can move again, continue along the path heading west.

Surf until you reach another set of water currents, then take the topmost current that continues west.

Step 3: Once this water current drops you off, continue surfing west along the narrow path.

At the end, you’ll notice a water current on your left. Take this current to reach a small sandbar.

Step 4: Once you reach the sandbar with multiple trainers, take the very bottom water current to continue heading westward.

Step 5: After that water current drops you off, continue heading west to reach the other side of the island.

Step 6: At the western edge of this island, ride the water current that’s closest to the rock to reach Route 134.

Step 7: If you took the correct water current, it will lead you to an island on Route 134.

From there, head west toward the center of the island (you can do this on foot).

Step 8: Then when you see a Black Belt pacing around, use your Dowsing Machine in the central area here. You should find a hidden Heart Scale in the sand.

Location #22 – Route 134 (Second Spot)

HM03 Surf

This second Heart Scale is located near the previous Heart Scale on Route 134, so follow the directions above until you reach the Black Belt NPC.

Step 1: In the central area with the Black Belt, continue west and go past the NPC.

Step 2: Use your Dowsing Machine just a few tiles east of an overworld item to find the second hidden Heart Scale on this island.

Step 1: Fly to Route 134 and head to the northwest edge of the island – then ride the top-most water current heading west.

Step 2: After that water current drops you off, you can pick up a hidden Heart Scale in the center of the small sandbar.
