Wide Lens
# Method Repeatable?
1 Route 123 – Southwest of the pond No
2 Battle Maison’s Exchange Service Corner – 48 BP Yes
3 (AS) Held item from wild Sableye (5% chance) found on Granite Cave, Cave of Origin, Victory Road, Sky Pillar Yes

There are three different ways to obtain a Wide Lens, with one method exclusively available in Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.

The first method involves taking a trip to Route 123. Enter this route via the eastern entrance to find a Wide Lens near a pond by a fishing shack.

The second method is to head over to the Battle Maison’s Exchange Service Corner, where you can trade 48 Battle Points (BP) for a Wide Lens. This method is repeatable but it’s only accessible in the post-game.

And then in Alpha Sapphire you can use Thief to steal Wide Lenses from wild Sableye. Sableye can be found in Granite Cave, Cave of Origin, Sky Pillar, and Victory Road. And each wild Sableye you find will have a 5% chance of holding a Wide Lens.

Method 1: Route 123 on the Ground

We’ll start by flying back to Mt Pyre on Route 122:

Step 1: From Mt. Pyre’s entrance, use Surf to head south towards Route 123’s east entrance.

Step 6: Continue by going down the ledge to the left beyond the berry trees.

Step 7: Keep moving west from here. If you time it right you can even walk past the Poké Fan without having to battle him.

Just make sure to not accidentally jump down the ledge here.

Step 8: Once you walk by a pine tree below you, hop down one ledge (not both) and continue heading west.

Step 9: Battle the Ace Trainer that’s in your way as you go left.

Then just keep going left to jump down two more ledges, still heading in the same direction.

Method 2: Battle Maison’s BP Shop

The Battle Maison operates similarly to the Battle Tower from previous generations.

On the second floor you’ll find one of the Exchange Service Corner’s attendants. If you’ve got at least 48 BP then you can purchase a Wide Lens from her.

Method 3: Stealing from Wild Sableye (Alpha Sapphire Only)

If you want another way to get Wide Lenses in Alpha Sapphire, you can get them as held items from wild Sableye.

Here are Sableye’s encounter rates for each possible location where it spawns:

Sableye’s Location Encounter Rate Levels
Granite Cave B2F 20% 10-12
Cave of Origin 31% 33-36
Victory Road 10% 40
Sky Pillar 10% 44-46

When you encounter a wild Sableye, there’s a 5% chance it will be holding a Wide Lens.

By using a Pokémon with TM46 Thief you can steal the item from it.

Uses

The Wide Lens is a held item that increases the holder’s accuracy by 10% during battle. It’s particularly useful for Pokémon that rely on high-power moves with less than perfect accuracy.

Moves such as Hydro Pump, Focus Blast, or Fire Blast can all greatly benefit from the accuracy boost provided by a Wide Lens.

By improving the consistency of these moves, you can maximize your Pokémon’s damage output and make each turn count.

Tip: If your Pokémon has a low base Speed, you may want to consider using the Zoom Lens instead. The Zoom Lens offers a higher accuracy boost of 20%, but only if the holder acts after its opponent. This can be a strategic choice for Pokémon that are naturally slower, ensuring that their moves hit more consistently.
