You can obtain the Rocky Helmet from a Scientist NPC that’s inside the Weather Institute on Route 119. This is the only way to get the Rocky Helmet in the game, and you can find Route 119 just west of Fortree City.
But before you can obtain this item, you need to defeat Team Magma/Aqua from within the Weather Institute first.
The Scientist will give you the Rocky Helmet when you speak to him after beating team Aqua/Magma in battle. He is located directly to the left of the reception desk.
Uses
If a Pokémon holding the Rocky Helmet gets hit by a contact move, the attacker will take damage equal to 1/6th of its maximum HP. Contact moves are defined as attacks that physically touch a Pokémon.
While contact moves primarily consist of physical moves, some special attacks can make contact as well.
There are 6 special moves in Pokémon ORAS that are considered contact moves:
- Petal Dance
- Trump Card
- Wring Out
- Grass Knot
- Draining Kiss
- Infestation
The Rocky Helmet works best with tanks with high Defense stats. Pokémon such as Skarmory and Metagross will benefit the most from this held item.
