The Blue Orb, which functions as Kyogre’s Mega Stone, will be given to you at different points in the game depending on which version you’re playing.
In Alpha Sapphire, Archie will give you the Blue Orb in Sootopolis City after you battle Kyogre in the Cave of Origin.
If you’re playing Omega Ruby, the Elders on Mt. Pyre’s summit will entrust you with the Blue Orb after you defeat Team Magma Admin Courtney in a battle. This event happens some time after you obtain the sixth Gym Badge, but since Kyogre isn’t available in this version you might not be able to use it.
Uses
Unlike in previous generations, the Blue Orb in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire is now classified as a Held Item, not a Key Item.
The Blue Orb now works similarly to a Mega Stone, but not exactly the same. When Kyogre holds it, the item triggers its transformation into Primal Kyogre as soon as it enters battle.
Also, it’s important to note that using the Blue Orb to transform Kyogre doesn’t count as your one allowed Mega Evolution in each battle. This means you can still use Mega Evolution on a different Pokémon in the same battle where the Blue Orb was used.
