2 | Crescent Isle and Mirage Islands – Possible hidden item | Yes |
In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire there are two ways to obtain a Razor Fang:
Method #1: Visit the Battle Maison’s Exchange Service Corner and trade 48 Battle Points (BP) for one Razor Fang. The Battle Maison is located at the Battle Resort, which is an island that only becomes accessible after completing the Delta Episode.
Method #2: You have the chance to find a Razor Fang in Mirage Spots, specifically in Crescent Isle and in any Mirage Island. By using the Dowsing Machine you can scour the area for hidden items, one of which could be a Razor Fang.
Method 1: Battle Maison’s BP Shop
The Battle Maison operates similarly to the Battle Tower from previous generations.
At the Exchange Service Corner, two attendants offer a wide variety of valuable items in exchange for BP. The left attendant sells Vitamins, EV training items, and evolution items. The right attendant sells held items used in battles, including the Razor Fang.
Method 2: Crescent Isle & Mirage Islands
Upon obtaining the Eon Flute from Steven, you’ll be able to soar through Hoenn’s skies, granting you access to Mirage Spots.
Each day, a random Mirage Spot appears on the outskirts of Hoenn, marked by a red sparkle. These Mirage Spots fall into one of five categories:
- Mirage Cave
- Mirage Forest
- Mirage Island
- Mirage Mountain
- Crescent Isle
The image below highlights all possible Mirage Island locations, as well as the fixed location of Crescent Isle. If none of the Mirage Spots below are currently active then you can adjust the time settings on your 3DS or emulator until any of them appear.

Uses
In Battle
The Razor Fang is a held item that provides all attacking moves, which don’t already have a flinch chance, a 10% chance of making the target flinch. Flinching prevents the target from attacking if the holder moves first, so your Pokémon’s Speed is crucial. This item works exactly like the King’s Rock.
But because the flinch chance is relatively low, the Razor Fang isn’t really worth using in battle at all.
It’s possible to go through an entire battle without the Razor Fang’s effect triggering. Additionally, the Razor Fang doesn’t boost the flinch chance of moves that already have a flinch chance, like Air Slash or Dark Pulse.
Outside of Battle
The Razor Fang also serves as an Evolution item.
When a Gligar holding a Razor Fang levels up at night, it evolves into Gliscor. After evolving, the Razor Fang is consumed and disappears.
