In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, there are six different ways to obtain a Fire Stone. The easiest way to get a Fire Stone is via Fiery Path, where you can find one as an overworld item inside the cave’s southwest corner. But you’ll need a Pokémon that knows HM04 Strength to get it.
If you don’t have access to Fiery Path yet, another reliable way to acquire a Fire Stone is to complete either of the following Secret Super Training stages:
- “The Fire Stone Cup Begins!”
- “The Battle for the Best!”
Should you require additional Fire Stones, there are still more ways to obtain them, although these methods might be more tedious and provide less certainty than the first two methods.
Method 1 – Fiery Path (One-time Only)
Fiery Path is a cave that serves as a connection between the top and bottom sections of Route 112. In order to access the hidden side path within the cave, you’ll need to push a large boulder blocking your path. So, make sure to bring a Pokémon that knows HM04 Strength to get past the boulders and get the Fire Stone.
If you’re all set, fly back to Fiery Path:
Step 1: Upon landing, enter the cave entrance to Fiery Path.
Step 2: Inside the cave, head north and take the stairs on the left.
Step 3: Then head to the path on the left-hand side that’s blocked by a boulder.
Step 4: Use HM04 Strength on the first boulder to push it into the hole.
Step 5: Use Strength again on the next boulder to push it aside to the left. Then take the path up and around towards the left.
Step 6: After that, follow the winding path heading south.
Step 7: After reaching the end of the path, collect the Fire Stone in the center of the room.
Method 2 – Secret Super Training: The Fire Stone Cup Begins! / The Battle for the Best!
Secret Super Training is a series of mini-games designed for fully-trained Pokémon to obtain rare items.
If you complete the stage called “The Fire Stone Cup Begins!” or “The Battle for the Best!” within the target time, you have the chance to win the following prizes:
Stage | Possible Prizes |
---|---|
The Fire Stone Cup Begins! |
|
The Battle for the Best! |
|
Because Super Training becomes available once Wally captures his Ralts, this method does provide the earliest opportunity to obtain a Fire Stone. However, it should be noted that fully training a Pokémon’s EVs (Effort Values) may require a bit of time and effort.
Method 3 – Trade with the Treasure Hunter
The Treasure Hunter is an NPC who trades shards for various Evolution Stones. He can be found on an island house on Route 124, between Lilycove City and Mossdeep City. You can trade one Red Shard for one Fire Stone.
Here’s the full list of shards that can be traded for Evolution Stones:
Shard | Evolution Stone |
---|---|
Red Shard | Fire Stone |
Yellow Shard | Thunder Stone |
Blue Shard | Water Stone |
Green Shard | Leaf Stone |
If you don’t know where the Treasure Hunter’s house is, simply fly back to Route 124 and you’ll land on the island where his house is on.
Method 4 – Inverse Battle Stop
The Inverse Battle Stop in Mauville City is a unique battle facility operated by a trainer named Inver, where Inverse Battles take place.
Inverse battles are a special type of Pokémon battle in which type matchups are reversed, making moves that are usually super effective, not very effective, and vice versa.
Should you manage to defeat Inver, he’ll reward you with an item based on your score. Each super-effective move you land earns you a point, while each super-effective move he lands against you causes a one-point deduction.
Scoring between 7 to 9 points gives you a 10% chance of obtaining a Fire Stone. Each prize in this pool has an equal probability (10%) of being awarded. The prize pool for this score range includes the following:
- Fire Stone
- Leaf Stone
- Water Stone
- Thunder Stone
- Sun Stone
- Moon Stone
- Dawn Stone
- Dusk Stone
- Shiny Stone
- Everstone
If you don’t know where the Inverse Battle Stop is, here’s how to get there:
Step 1: Begin at the Pokémon Center in Mauville City. Then head back inside the city’s interior through the entrance on the right.
Step 2: Once inside the city, proceed slightly north. The first shop on your left is the Inverse Battle Stop.
Step 3: After entering the facility, talk to Inver to start the challenge.
Remember to track your points – accumulate a score of 7-9 to have a chance of obtaining a Fire Stone.
Method 5 – Rematch with Kindler Bernie
When you defeat Kindler Bernie in a rematch, he has a 5% chance of rewarding you with a Fire Stone.
Kindler Bernie can be found on Route 114, the route connecting Meteor Falls and Fallarbor Town. You can find him on the path leading up to Meteor Falls, and you can request a rematch by speaking to him.
Step 1: From the Route 114 sign, cross the bridge heading south.
Step 2: Continue heading south through the tall grass. Then, turn left and go up the nearby stairs.
Step 3: Head south past the Camper. Then follow the path going east.
Step 4: You’ll eventually find Kindler Bernie walking around on the right side of the area. Climb the stairs and speak with him to begin the rematch.
Method 6 – Secret Pal Skill: Pick Up Stones
You also have a chance to obtain a Fire Stone by using the “Pick Up Stones” Secret Pal skill, which is one of the features of Super-Secret Bases.
In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Super-Secret Bases are an upgraded version of the Secret Base feature from the original games. After making your own Secret Base using TM94 Secret Power, you can customize and share your base with other players.
You can also visit other Secret Bases to interact with other players, challenge them to battles, and if you want, make them one of your Secret Pals. Each Secret Pal can use a special skill once a day; a pal can learn up to four of the ten possible skills:
