There are three different methods for obtaining Deep Sea Tooths in ORAS.
The first method involves using Thief to steal Deep Sea Tooths from Wild Carvanha or Sharpedo, which can be found by fishing on Route 118 or Route 119.
Alternatively, you have the chance to find a Deep Sea Tooth in Mirage Spots – specifically in Crescent Isle and in any Mirage Cave. You can use the Dowsing Machine to search for hidden items in these areas once you’ve gotten the Eon Flute from Steven.
And exclusively in Pokémon Omega Ruby, you can also obtain a Deep Sea Tooth as a reward for completing the Mauville Ramen Bowl in the Mauville Food Court. To obtain this reward you must finish the Mauville Ramen Bowl course in exactly 8 turns and defeat all 8 Trainers.
Method 1: Stealing from Wild Carvanha or Sharpedo
You can take a Deep Sea Tooth as a held item from either a wild Carvanha or wild Sharpedo. You’ll encounter these Pokémon by fishing with a Good Rod or Super Rod in any body of water on Route 118 or Route 119.
With each encounter there’s a 5% chance they will be holding a Deep Sea Tooth. You can take the held item by using Thief.
Method 2: Crescent Isle and Mirage Caves
Upon obtaining the Eon Flute from Steven, you’ll be able to soar through Hoenn’s skies and gain access to Mirage Spots.
Each day, a random Mirage Spot appears on the outskirts of Hoenn, marked by a red sparkle. And in Mirage Caves and Crescent Isle you can find various hidden items, one of which can be a Deep Sea Tooth. All the potential items you can find in these locations are listed below:

Method 3: Mauville Food Court (Omega Ruby Exclusive)
In Pokemon Omega Ruby, completing the Mauville Ramen Bowl at the Mauville Food Court in exactly eight turns, and defeating all the Trainers there, will earn you a Deep Sea Tooth.
Mauville Food Court is where you can order food and participate in battles for rewards. After ordering food, you will be challenged to battles by a gauntlet of Trainers who want you seat. If you defeat a certain number of trainers within the allotted number of turns, you will receive additional rewards.
After successfully completing both the Village Sub Combo and the Magnemite Croquette challenges, as well as finishing the Delta Episode, you’ll find that the line for the Mauville Ramen Bowl is available.
Talk to the Black Belt behind the counter to place an order for the Mauville Ramen Bowl.
The Mauville Ramen Bowl
When you order the Mauville Ramen Bowl, you’ll be given a turn limit of 8. This means that if it takes you one turn to defeat each trainer in a Triple Battle, you will encounter a total of 8 trainers.
Depending on your performance, here are the possible rewards for this particular order:
Reward | Method | Version |
---|---|---|
Big Nugget x2 | Finish the Mauville Ramen Bowl course in exactly 8 turns | OR/AS |
Deep Sea Tooth | Finish the Mauville Ramen Bowl course in exactly 8 turns and defeat all 8 Trainers | OR |
Deep Sea Scale | Finish the Mauville Ramen Bowl course in exactly 8 turns and defeat all 8 Trainers | AS |
Uses
Outside of Battle
The Deep Sea Tooth is one of two Evolution items specifically designed for Clamperl’s evolutions. When a Clamperl holding a Deep Sea Tooth is traded, it will evolve into Huntail.
On the other hand, when a Clamperl holding a Deep Sea Scale is traded, it will evolve into Gorebyss.
In Battle
When held by Clamperl in battle, this item doubles Clamperl’s Special Attack. The Deep Sea Tooth has no effect in battle when held by any Pokémon other than Clamperl.
