Trainer’s Eye is one of the many features available in the AreaNav. You can access it by tapping the “Trainers” tab on the bottom of the AreaNav screen.
When you open it, Trainer’s Eye displays a map with the location of all available rematches. White markers indicate regular trainers, while dark markers indicate areas with no rematches available.
You can tap the marked spots to view additional information on a trainer.
The top screen will show the trainer’s profile, while the bottom screen will show their team. Trainers available for rematches will have a “Battle Ready!” marker.
After defeating a trainer in a rematch, you will also have a small chance of obtaining an item as a reward.
You can battle each trainer as many times as you want. Rematches become available at random, based on your step count.
Note: You cannot rematch Gym leaders. While you can challenge the Elite Four at any moment, rematches against their upgraded teams will only become available once you complete the Delta Episode.
