Super-Secret Bases – The Basics
Super-Secret Bases can be created by using the move Secret Power on Secret Spots around Hoenn. Different Secret Spots will also have different interior layouts. You will receive TM94 – Secret Power automatically during your first visit to Route 118 during the main story.
In order to create a Super-Secret Base, simply interact with any Secret Spot of your choice and then use Secret Power on it.
There are three different types of Secret Spots – trees, caves, and shrubs.
Tree Secret Spots have a lighter tone of green, and a slightly different shape compared to regular trees.

Cave Secret Spots are indicated by a small opening on rock walls.

Brush Secret Spots have a square shape and a lighter tone of green.

Decorating Your Super-Secret Base
After creating a base, you will be able to decorate it. Super-Secret Base decorations can be bought at the following places:
- Slateport market
- Lilycove Department Store
- Pretty Petal shop on Route 104
- Glass Workshop on Route 113
- Secret Base Guild in Fortree City
You can place a decoration inside your base by accessing the computer, then selecting the “Decorate your base” option in the menu.
Press the “X” button to open the decorations menu. Choose the decoration you want to place, and then move the piece to the desired spot.
Decorations can only be placed on spaces marked with a green arrow and green tiles.

Bases have a set number of spaces. So you can only place decorations up to the number of spaces available in your base.
Super-Secret Bases also have two special pieces of decoration that can affect Pokémon battles in bases – Proclamation and Level Release.

Proclamation
You will receive a Proclamation from Aarune during your first visit to the Secret Base Guild in Fortree City. The guild is the last treehouse on the bottom-half of the city.

After placing the Proclamation, you can activate the decoration to the battle format for your base:
- Single battles
- Double battles
- Triple battles
- Rotation battles
- Inverse battles
Level Release
You will receive the Level Release decoration as a gift at the Battle Resort. Then you can add it into your Super-Secret Base to increase the level cap beyond 50.
To get this item, head to the stilt houses northeast of the Battle Maison. Enter the house on the top-left corner and talk to the Battle Girl inside to obtain the Level Release.

Battles at a Super-Secret Base will be automatically capped at level 50. Activating the Level Release eliminates the cap and lets you fight Pokémon up to level 100.
Secret Pals
You can also add other players’ Super-Secret Bases to your games. After visiting their base, you can add the player as a Secret Pal. Secret Pals will then move to your base, where you will be able to battle them, receive gifts, and ask them to perform different tasks.
Your Secret Pals’ skills will be determined by their trainer classes.
Players can only have up to five Secret Pals at once. If you decide to add another Secret Pal, then you will need to remove one of the current Secret Pals to make room for a new one.
Sharing Your Super-Secret Base
You can issue your own QR code for other players by accessing your base’s computer, then selecting “Manage QR codes patterns” in the menu.
Next, select the “Share a Secret Base” option on the bottom screen to obtain your Super-Secret Base’s QR code, which will be shown on the top screen.

If another player adds your base, then your avatar will always use the first three Pokémon in your team at the time the QR code was issued.
Your Secret Pals, meanwhile, will become grunts, and will use teams based on their trainer classes. The table below lists the teams used by each trainer class.

Daily Events
Secret Pals Battles and Skills
You can battle your Secret Pals once a day at your base. Battle rules are determined by your Proclamation, and the level 50 cap will be in place unless you activate the Level Release.
Additionally, you can also ask your Secret Pals to perform a special skill once a day. These skills are determined by the Secret Pals’ base ranking and by their trainer class.
Battling Other Base Owners
You can battle other players at their own bases once a day. The battle format will be set by the other player’s Proclamation, and you must activate their Level Release to remove the level 50 cap.
The base owner will always use the first three Pokémon from their in-game team.
Flag Capture
Once a day, you can also capture the flags from other Super-Secret Bases. Flags are always placed near the base’s computer.

Your base’s ranking will rise based on the number of flags you capture. Raising your base’s ranking will reward you with gifts, and will also unlock additional decorations at the Secret Base Guild’s shop in Fortree City.
