Finding the Regi Trio & Regigigas

This page will detail how to unlock and capture the Regi Trio (Regirock, Regice, and Registeel), and then how to find Regigigas afterwards.

Prerequisites

• Obtain the Mossdeep Gym badge (for the Regi trio)
• Obtain the Sootopolis Gym badge and the National Dex (for Regigigas)
• Catch a Relicanth
• Catch a Wailmer and evolve it into Wailord
• Obtain at least one of the following items:
  • Casteliacone
  • Icicle Plate
  • Icy Rock
  • Never-Melt Ice
  • Or a Snowball
• Have Pokémon with the following moves in your party:
  • Dive
  • Surf
  • Dig
  • Strength
  • Fly
• Gain access to Route 133 (west of Pacifidlog Town)

Sealed Chamber Puzzle (Releasing the Regis)

Before you can attempt to catch any of the Regis, you will first have to free the Regi trio by clearing the puzzle in the Sealed Chamber on Route 134.

In order to get to the Sealed Chamber, you need to navigate the currents on Routes 133 and 134. Start by flying to Route 133 and follow the steps below.

Step 1: After arriving on Route 133, walk south from the signboard and then continue west, to the opposite shore of the islet.

Step 2: Use Surf and continue along the currents heading west.

Step 3: The currents will take you to another islet.

On this islet, walk west until you reach the opposite shore.

Step 4: User Surf again and continue along the currents heading west.

Step 5: The currents will once again lead you to another islet. Walk west on this islet until you reach the opposite shore.

Step 6: Use Surf and follow the currents heading west.

Step 7: The currents will now take you to a diving spot. Use Dive and go underwater.

Step 8: While underwater, swim south and continue to the next area.

Step 9: In the second area, swim south from the entrance.

Step 10: Keep swimming south until you reach a wall at the end of the path, then swim around the wall.

Step 11: On the other end of the wall you will find a mural with braille text on it.

Swim to the bright spot in front of the wall, and then return to the surface.

Step 12: You will now find yourself inside the Sealed Chamber.

Walk all the way to the north end of the room.

Step 13: On the north end of the room, you will find a large stone mural with braille text. Stop in front of the mural.

Step 14: While standing in front of the mural, open your party and use Dig.

Step 15: Exit the menu and you will notice that the mural has given way to a secret path.

Head inside and continue to the second room.

Step 16: In the second room, walk all the way to the north end once again.

Step 17: You will reach another stone mural with braille text on it. Stop right in front of the mural.

Step 18: While standing in front of this mural, open your party menu. Make sure that Relicanth is in the first slot in your party, and that Wailord is in the last slot.

Step 19: With Relicanth at the top of your party and Wailord at the bottom, press “A” on the braille text.

Step 20: Following a short earthquake animation, you will get a message confirming that the puzzle has been solved.

You can now exit the Sealed Chamber and return to the surface to go after the Regis.

Regirock

You will find Regirock in the Desert Ruins on Route 111.

Step 1: Fly to Route 111. Then walk a short distance to the right of the signboard and head north into the desert.

Step 2: From the desert’s entrance, walk a short distance north and then turn east along the wall.

Step 3: Turn south at the first corner. Stay close to the wall on the left side and keep going south.

Step 4: Continue south until you reach the edge of the wall, then turn east.

Step 5: Walk a short distance east and the Desert Ruins will come into view. Head inside once you see them.

Step 6: Inside the ruins, walk straight from the entrance all the way to the north end of the room. Stop in front of the mural with the braille text.

Step 7: From your current position, turn right, then walk exactly two steps to the right.

Step 8: From your current position, face down, and then walk two steps down.

Step 9: Make sure you are standing on this exact spot before proceeding.

Step 10: Open your party menu and use Strength.

Step 11: After a short animation, the mural will reveal a secret path leading to the second room. Head inside.

Step 12: Inside the second room, walk north to find Regirock. Interact with the Pokémon to start the fight.

Regice

Regice is located in the Island Cave on Route 105.

Step 1: Fly to Route 105 and walk west from the signboard, then use Surf on the water.

Step 2: Surf to the north side of the route.

Step 3: Keep surfing north until you reach a small island with the Island Cave in the center. Head inside.

Step 4: Inside the cave, walk all the way to the north end of the room to find some braille text.

Step 5: Press “A” on the braille text.

Step 6: Press “A” again to close the braille text. Then stand still in front of the stone mural for two minutes. Do not touch the game’s controllers during that time.

After two minutes, the stone wall will reveal an opening leading to the inner chamber. Head inside.

Step 7: Walk to the north end of the second room to find Regice. Press “A” to interact with the legendary Pokémon and start the fight.

Step 8: After capturing Regice, make sure to give it a nickname. This is necessary in order to catch Regigigas later on. Just keep in mind that you cannot rename it to “Regice”, so it must be a unique nickname.

Registeel

Registeel can be found inside the Ancient Tomb on Route 120.

While the Ancient Tomb itself is located on Route 120, you can actually get there faster by flying to Route 121 instead.

Step 1: Fly to Route 121 and follow the path heading west to enter Route 120.

Step 2: On Route 120 keep following the trail heading west.

Step 3: Continue a short distance north along the trail, then turn west at the large pine tree on the left side.

Step 4: Keep going west until you reach the end of the green patch, then turn north and climb up the stairs.

Step 5: Up the stairs, continue north and enter the tall grass.

Step 6: Continue north along the tall grass, and then walk up the next flight of stairs.

Step 7: After walking up the stairs, continue to the cave in the northwest and enter the Ancient Tomb.

Step 8: Inside the Ancient Tomb, walk a short distance north from the entrance, towards the gray pattern on the ground.

You need to stand on the spot indicated by the red square in the screenshot below.

Step 9: While standing on the marked spot, open your party menu and use Fly.

Step 10: After using Fly, a secret path will open that leads to the inner chamber.

Step 11: Inside this room will be Registeel. Interact with the legendary Pokémon to start the fight.

Regigigas

You will find Regigigas in the Island Cave on Route 105. This is the same place where you caught Regice.

But you must meet the following requirements for Regigigas to spawn:

• Have the Regi trio in your party
• Give a nickname to Regice
• Have Regice hold one of the following items: a Casteliacone, an Icicle Plate, an Icy Rock, a Never-Melt Ice, or a Snowball

Step 1: After completing all of the requirements, return to the Island Cave on Route 105. Then proceed to the inner chamber.

Step 2: Save your game and make sure your party is fully healed before proceeding.

Inside the second chamber, walk north and continue until you get to the spot where you caught Regice earlier.

Step 3: As soon as you step on the center of the ice floor, the game will proceed automatically. An earthquake animation will follow, and a message will pop up on the screen.

Step 4: Press “A” to clear the message and to start the fight.

Following the animation featuring the Regi’s eyes, Regigigas will appear and start the battle.
